[Managing schedules and stress with a newborn.]
Had a newborn 3 weeks ago, and boy has it been super stressful these past few days! Wifey has taken a 6 month break (she's a physician) and I'm taking 5 weeks off now and 3 weeks later. Wife's parents have been extremely helpful but they're working and will RTO in 2 weeks. My folks are following up right after and will be here for 2.5 months.
As a first-time parent and handling dawn patrol/night shifts to feed every 3 hours, this has messed up my sleep schedule and my overall stress level is off the charts. I feel compelled to watch over the baby, call it first time parent's anxiety. Even my wife is feeling stressed coupled with post-partum.
My Q is: how do folks typically manage through this? When is the newborn typically expected to sleep through the night?

You on the other hand should try to relax in the nights. Don't share the load 24 hrs. In the mornings you can take more responsibilities but in the first 5 months dads role is very minimal. Your leaves will be well utilised after 6 months.
